Valley of Fire State Park
So as we (Cindy and Char) embark west to Utah pack van fueled up on hotel single pack brewed coffee we diverted to this red stone landscape.
Smack dab in the 'middle of know where' as I received true verification from Charlotte when the questions was asked. She was right, Fucking right...'no where'. This place was true to this definition. Oh did I mention it was hot? hmmm anyway what a place, what a place. landscape, rock, the scale and massiveness just awe striking.
But really this journey; yes or no for 'no where' these travels the moment to moment is great I'm thankful. But really what this has done has brought me back. As a student of Hydrology these visual landscapes have made me think of the geology and landscape instruction fed to me as a college student. The geomorphic process of thrust vaults, the sedimentary layers and how that tells our earths story. It's all time. The lecture and labs as I sat and took notes. It all is ringing through my head and in these beautiful places I remember. I knew from books, maps and lab experimentation the earth and its action are dynamic these glimpses these kiosks here and their just fortify that. So nameste earth.
Zion National Park
Not a bad place to be. Rock ledge shoulder us side to side. Almost a comforting feeling in this canyon. I think we will rest well here. And we did. Explored water running; river- the Narrows. #wow!! Around ever corner a vast cavern or rock with a sinuous river running through it.@amosedale
